I wanted to give our blog friends an update on Anna Todd's foundation. First of all, we have a tax ID number and are currently finishing up the 501-C-3 paperwork so we will be a recognized non-profit organization. The PICU at Children's and Women's Hospital in Mobile is helping us to identify families that need help with the non-medical expenses that occur when a child becomes sick.

I am also happy to report that Anna Todd's foundation has helped it's first family. A 2 month old baby came into the PICU on Saturday in respiratory distress and had to be transported to UAB for heart surgery. The baby is the youngest of 6 children and the parents needed money for transportation during their stay at UAB. The father works full time but the necessary costs for such an endeavor is beyond the family's means. Please say a special prayer for "Baby T" as he will undergo heart surgery on Friday.

Thank you all for your support of Anna Todd's Memorial Foundation. Without our friends and family this dream to help others in Anna Todd's memory would not be possible!

Jenna is one of Anna Todd's nannies for the summer. Mary Caylor is Jenna's sister who keeps her more but I have yet to get a picture of her. These girls have been so wonderful to Anna Todd and I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated them. It has been great that Anna Todd could stay home her first 5 months and I will tell you it has been easy not to have to pack a bag every morning. Thanks Jenna and Mary Caylor for being the best babysitters ever! Anna Todd loves you both!

Tomorrow Anna Todd will be 4 months old but I have not posted any pictures in several weeks. She is rolling all over the place and is crazy about her exercauser. She is a very happy baby who is starting to show so much personality! She still likes being held the majority of the time and lucky for momma and daddy sleeps through the night...she started this ritual at 12 weeks....oh what a happy night that was! Many of these pics were from Father's Day that she spent with her Daddy and Papa, but we missed her Grandpa very much!

Anna Todd had her first trip to Gulf Shores. She had a lot of fun...mainly floating down the lazy river with Momma and Papa and sleeping in her carseat in the shade. Her daddy hated when we took her on the balcony....we were on the highest floor!

Anna Todd has turned two months old since my lapse in blogging. She weighed 12.05 and was 23.5 inches long...90th percentile in both categories. She also got a round of immunizations at her check up. She did really well with the shots but 4 hours later was a different story. I guess she just didn't feel good. She started sobbing and I could not make it better....so...she and I just rocked and cried together. An hour later we both felt better. It was seriously the first time in her short life she has ever cried for no reason...Did I tell you that I am truly blessed with a really good baby!

She has also grown very fond of her bumbo chair...another awake time activity. Her cousins Ella and Jack sent her a book that spells out her name and she really likes when I read to her! At 11 weeks old AT rolled over but hasn't rolled over since. She is getting really strong during tummy time, and Todd thinks she should be walking by 4 months. LOL

Memorial Day

Anna Todd went "swimming" for the first time on Memorial Day. The Caldwell's invited us to their family party in Orange Beach, and they have a beautiful pool that sits right on the water. Anna Todd had so much fun with Maddox, Ella and their cousin Kate. She really liked the water and the only time she got mad was when I put her sunglasses on....You can see by the picure that the sun had gone behind a cloud so she knew she didn't need them!

I am a little behind on posting but I wanted to post pictures from a few weeks ago when Grandma and Grandpa Cheney met Anna Todd. It was such a fun and busy week. AT and Daddy showed our Cape Cod grandparents all the sites of Baldwin County which included downtown Fairhope, The Grand, and the Gulf. We also had a Cinco De Mayo party where the Good's and the Beverly's came over to celebrate. Caroline was feeling better so she got to spend time with AT...which we are so glad she is over her sickness. On Friday night we went out to dinner with Caldwell's. Anna Todd always enjoys spending time with Ella and Maddox. We ate at the Bass Pro Shop then went out for ice cream. Lastly, KK, Papa and Katlan came over for Mother's Day and Anna Todd's baby dedication. What a great last week at home with my little one! We were so glad to spend time with famliy and friends before I had to go back to work.

Anna Todd's baby dedication was on Mother's Day! It was a wonderful first Mother's Day for me. Todd and I were very happy to have both sets of grandparents there. After the service we treated our moms to lunch at The Grand....such a special day!

Update on Anna Todd

AT is now 8 weeks old. She loves the morning and smiles all the time. Her most alert time is 4 pm til she goes to bed at 9. Bathtime is becoming a favorite time but she has to get used to the water...that usually just takes a few seconds. But AT's favorite time is baby massage...her eyes just light up when you rub her hands and feet. She is holding her head up so well during tummy time. And she really seems to listen when you talk to her and wants to talk back to you....like mother like daughter! She has gotten so BIG that Todd and I are taking bets on her weight when she goes to her 2 month check up next week.

Anna Todd is now 6 weeks old. She is changing and doing new things everyday. We started tummy time this week on her activity mat, and she is really starting to like it. How do I know? Because AT started smiling this week!!! Todd and I love to get her to smile and she even acts like she is trying to laugh!

Anna Todd Turns 1 Month

Anna Todd is growing like a weed. We had her one month doctor's appointment on Thursday (her birthday) and she weighed a whopping 10.02 lbs (75th percentile.) She was also 22.5 inches long, the 90th percentile. She is obviously a good eater because she has come a long way since we brought her home only weighing 6.12. Dr. Rux said all her newborn screening came back normal and he thinks she is perfect...I love it when he says that! She is becoming much more alert as her eyes get really big when you are talking to her. KK even thinks she is beginning to smile...sounds good to me! She is now sleeping in her OWN room in her OWN bed...Momma is obviously proud of this accomplishment. She is sleeping from 11pm to 9am with 2 feedings in between and usually can go back to sleep pretty quickly. And she loves her swing and sound machine the most. Momma and Daddy are loving getting to know her and can't remember what life was like without Miss Anna Todd!

Just A Swingin'

We had only put Anna Todd in her bouncey seat until this weekend. She would only stay in her chair for 15 minutes...long enough for me to wash her bottles! We decided to try out the swing and she loves it! Our family was able to have dinner together while she swang for almost an hour. Momma started her out on level 5 and Daddy threw a fit! I still think she likes to go faster, but we will have to do that when Daddy is at work!

I forgot to mention the last time we put her in it she fell asleep...what a fabulous invention!

Couples Night

KK and Papa came back to visit Anna Todd for Easter. Friday night we were able to go out with friends while my parents babysat AT and Caroline (Amy and Brian's 4 month old.) Unfortunately, KK was a little busy to get any pictures of Caroline. I think KK and Papa each had a baby in their arms all night. By the time we got home both little girls were sleeping!

Todd had to go out of town to a meeting in Dallas this week so I my best friend from home came stay with me in Fairhope. Lindsay and her children, Kase and Lily, came to see Anna Todd for the first time. We had a great time eating out, bonding with kids and just catching up. One day it rained all day and we stayed in our pajamas until late afternoon....how fun and lazy!!!! Also, Amber and Travis came to see Anna Todd on Sunday on their way to Destin. We had such a good time with all our friends! Lindsay and I have already decided that Lily and Anna Todd will have to become best friends just like us!

Just a few recent pictures of Anna Todd. She is changing so fast! She weighed 7.7 and was 19.5 inches long when she was born. Two weeks ago at her doctor's visit she weighed 8.3 and was 21 3/4 inches long. You have to remember we brought her home only weighing 6.12 so she gained her weight back pretty fast. I think when we go back to the doctor next week she will definitely be 9 pounds.

Anna Todd may be too young for spend the night parties, but she had her first friend over for an early night pajama party! Our friends Amy and Brian cooked dinner and brought their daughter Caroline with them to see AT. Amy decided she wanted Caroline ready for bed before they came so I thought it would be fun for both our girls to be in their pajamas. Our friends Jeremy and Janelle also came over. Janelle is expecting a little girl at the end of June. We can't wait for Peyton to get here and share in all the fun with our little darlings! Thanks Amy for cooking a fabulous dinner and to Janelle for cleaning my kitchen! You are both awesome friends!

A New Generation is born...

I am sure you all know my Uncle Katlan. He is my mommy's younger and only sibling. I am looking forward to getting to know my uncle Katlan. Mommy says we are going to go to see him play a game called football. (I better get used to hearing that word!) My daddy says my uncle is in college, but that something I don't have to worry about right now. I LOVE my family! I get tons of kisses and hugs and they talk to me all the time.

Mommy said Katlan was the last baby born in 21 years (before me) in our immediate family. So
she said a new generation was started with me. There are lots of people who came to visit me other than Katlan, Papa and KK. "The Greats," that's my great Uncle Dennis and my Great Aunt Roc Roc Russell, Michael, Madolyn and Chappell (cousins,) my pastor and his wife, Pastor Tim and Mrs. Judy, Jeremy, Janelle, Randall, Angela, Dr. Jud Menefee, The Good's, Rachel, Amy and Jake (friends) all came to the hospital to welcome me into the world.

Me and Mommy have a whole list of people to thank. Lots of people from Faith Baptist have visited me and brought sooooo much food. No one at our house has even had to cook. My other great aunt and uncle, Suzanne and Benny, came over Saturday to visit me and my Aunt Suzanne just couldn't get enough of me...she loves BABIES!!! Just wanted to thank EVERYONE for all the prayers that got me here, visiting me and making my first weeks here so SPECIAL!!!

Waiting was not so bad...I was able to have lots of company and they could stay in the room as long as I wanted. I was very upset when I was told I had to have a c section, but what's important is Anna Todd is healthy! Todd and I are so excited to have her in our family. We love this little bundle of joy!

Mardi Gras

Our friends, Amy and Brian, invited us to their Mardi Gras Ball....our first experience. We had a great time but left at 11:30 for obvious reasons, ie notice my belly! This Mardi Gras thing is a huge deal in South Alabama! I never realized the month of February was a big ole party for those on the coastline. When you grow up in middle Mississippi you have no idea on how much you are missing out! Amy is part of the Periouettes (sp?) and they put on a show at 9pm. There was a queen and everything. Amy was part of the "Fire" dance group (there were many) and she did a great job! Our friend, Ashley (a fellow Perrouette,) danced to "Should've put a Ring on It" by Beyonce! So cute! After the show, the eating and drinking begins...I mean continues and then its a big dance party for everyone! So fun!

This is a picture taken from our tailgate at the Mississippi State/Auburn football game....I mean baseball game or was it hockey? Anyway the Bulldogs lost 3-2 and it was one of the most painful games I ever sat through. Lindsay is my best friend from high school and she is in the picture with me. We had so much fun spending the weekend together. The only bad part was that it was still my first trimester and I felt nauseated most of the game!

Todd and I had a New Year's Eve party at our house this year. With 3 pregnant women in attendance and a 2 week old , Miss Caroline, it was a very calm night. We have the best Sunday School class ever!!! They have all been such a blessing to Todd and I. Thanks to Judy and Pastor Tim for hosting our party at their house and for all the yummy food. Congrats to Stephen for winning the "Santa Claus" dress up competition! (Even though the guys cheated.) And Billy, I will never forget "Five Gold Rings." I still laugh when I think about it! What a memorable night!

Anna Todd's First Photo Session!!!

We had our 4D ultrasound today, and I highly recommend all my prego friends to fork out the money to get one. Todd couldn't be there because he is in Cape Cod visiting his family. We got 80 pictures on CD and a DVD of the entire session so he will get to see everything I saw.

I was warned that these ultrasounds are baby dependent...meaning if the baby is not cooperative you don't get good pictures. Well I am happy to report that Anna Todd LOVES the camera! She was posing and moving so good. Folks, we may have a model in the making!!! I was so pleased with pictures. I think she already has Todd's feet because Deidre (the ultrasound tech)said her feet are big! Anna Todd still has her legs crossed...Deidre said she is a modest little thing. At the end of out time she put her hand above her forehead as to say "No more pictures." I guess she is anticiapting the paparazzi...or maybe just her mother with a new camera!

Captiva Island 2008

Todd and I went on our last vacation before Anna Todd is born (yes, we finalized the name!) We had the best time laying on the beach, watching the most beautiful sunsets, and visiting a wildlife refuge. I think Todd's favorite part was seashelling...yes, Captiva Island is the seashell capital of the US! We brought back so many seashells that the x-ray police at the airport asked me if I left any seashells on the beach! It was so funny! My favorite part was relaxation, but I was still up an hour every night because that is what pregnancy has done to me. I wake up every night around 3 am and cannot go back to sleep for atleast an hour! "They" say this is God's way of preparing us for when Anna Todd gets here....I say it's a cruel joke!

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Todd and I are happy to report that our little peanut is a GIRL!!! We bought a little pink dress for her to celebrate. She has already got a great wardrobe started thanks to yours truly! (Everybody tells me when Kidz Kloset comes to town you have to be prepared to take advantage of those great prices, and everybody was right.) And her closet is awesome! We had Gulf Coast Storage Solutions come in and design it. Tim (the designer) did a bang up job. Her closet is like an organizers dream. I will continue to strive for this skill!

The name thing is still a bone of contention around the Cheney household. I really like Anna Todd, but Todd still wants to debate about other names. Both our grandmothers were named Ann and doesn't every little girl want to be named after her daddy? I mean really...what is there to debate about??? I guess the double name thing is still a foreign concept to my Boston husband. So the debate lives on....

Here is a pic of her fabulous closet! Notice the Mississippi State onesie, her first pink dress for church and I even bought her a dress for her first Christmas (size 9 months....thinking ahead my friends!) I am a little excited to say the least!

Todd and I have been married for 3 and1/2 years and are expecting our first baby....March 7th! We are super excited to start a family. I will let everyone know if we are having a boy or a girl as soon as WE know. Funny story....at 13 weeks we thought we would have an idea because the ultrasound tech said she had been doing her job for THIRTY years and could tell at 13 weeks if she saw little boy parts. Since I am a control freak I thought this would be great. Well of course our little stinker had their legs crossed and she could not make heads or tails if our little peanut is a boy or a girl. We are 17 weeks pregnant (almost) and I should know something in the next 3 weeks....pending no leg crossing!!! I hear coke and chocolate should take care of this. I am always open to ideas to make sure we don't repeat the same episode.

Since many of my friends do this blog thing, I thought this might be an easy way to keep up with the Cheney family! I really enjoy keeping up with all of you!
